MEETING | Minutes
Attending: Andrew Glickson, Sheldon Miller, Louis Schulman
The meeting was called to order at 8:10 A.M.
Mr. Schulman informed the Commissioners that there is a new class of 9 driver trainees.
Mr. Schulman reported that three of the new Gillig buses are on the property, with the fourth expected in about two weeks. The District has just hired an inspection firm for the seven Shepard Brothers vehicles that went on line earlier this week.
Mr. Schulman said that the District is requesting a CDBG grant to match the last of the FTA earmarks for the pulse point project.
Mr. Schulman will be meeting with representatives of Norwalk Community College next week to talk about the new Connecticut Avenue Shuttle and bus operations at the College.
The Commissioners approved a request to the Norwalk Bank and Trust for a line of credit of $2,500,000. The funds are typically used to aid cash flow while the District waits for funding from the State of Connecticut.
The District is issuing a request for proposals for exterior advertising on buses to provide the match for federal earmarks in the event State funds are not approved. The Commissioners wish to discuss this issue further.
The Commissioners reviewed the stainless steel finish to be used on the canopy support at the pulse point.
Mr. Schulman reported that buses operated on time during yesterday’s snow storm.
