MEETING | Minutes
Attending: Andrew Glickson, Sheldon Miller, Louis Schulman, David Marcus
The meeting was called to order at 8:05 A.M.
Mr. Schulman provided an update on the progress of the new driver trainees. Currently 6 are scheduled to work for Westport/ADA/Shuttle and the remaining three for the WHEELS division.
Mr. Schulman reported that all four Gillig vehicles are on the property and three of the four have been placed in revenue service.
The Commissioners discussed providing Brien McMahon High School and Norwalk Community College with bus shelters. Mr. Schulman also outlined the plan to begin a Connecticut Avenue shuttle from the South Norwalk rail station. He also indicated that the Maritime garage shuttle would end the first week in April as a result of lost funding from the Parking Authority and low ridership.
Mr. Schulman reported that there is no new information regarding the State budget for the current fiscal year.
Mr. Schulman said that he has again asked for assistance from Norwalk’s State delegation for pulse point matching funds. He also said that if the District is to upgrade the toilets at the pulse point he will need an agreement with the Parking Authority.
Mr. Schulman said that, in response to a demand from the union, the District has stopped snow removal by the contractor the District had hired.
Mr. Schulman has again asked ConnDOT for funding to support a review of our bus storage and maintenance needs going forward.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 A.M.
