MEETING | Minutes

Westport Transit District Directors:  Jim Hood and Bud Titsworth; Norwalk Transit District:  Louis Schulman, Stephen Hill and Nancy Carroll; Public:  Michelle Hill; Press Representative

The meeting was called to order at 8:35 AM.  The minutes of the previous meeting (11/5/09) were reviewed for accuracy and accepted as submitted. 

Public Comment
There was no public comment.

Ridership
Mrs. Carroll reviewed FY’10 to-date ridership data.  Discussion followed regarding the economy and its relationship to declining ridership.   The Directors requested a modification to the FY’10 Cost Analysis table to show Westport’s cost per passenger trip.

Marketing
Mr. Hood talked about the discussions he has had with the Green Village Initiative.  Both he and Mr. Titsworth would do more brainstorming.

FY 2010 and FY 2011 Budgets
Mr. Hill reported that the District has not received an adjusted budget for FY’10 from the State. The State Agreement currently in place reflects no increase in funding

The FY’11 Budget has been submitted to the Town; however, there has not been any communication from the State regarding next year’s funding and the submittal of a budget request.

Mrs. Carroll reported that she is preparing the application for the continued funding of the Municipal Dial-A-Ride Grant for Westport.

New Business
Mrs. Carroll reported on the procurement of 10 new body-on-chassis vehicles which will be used in both Norwalk and Westport.
